Read this article to know about the extreme supermoon in India 19 March 2011.
It was a wonderful day for all those who were really waiting for the great event to happen as hundreds of people around the country had a glimpse of the super moon as the moon came very close to the earth. This natural phenomenon called to be the extreme super moon appeared after a gap of 18 years.
There were media reports that the appearance of the moon with a larger size would have brought natural calamites such as earth quake and tsunami. Nothing so had happened. So it was a memorable occasion for those who had seen this natural phenomenon. The phenomenon also known as Lunar Perigee is also called Super moon as it is occurs a full moon day.
According to me preemption the unusual phenomena of the appearance of the moon with larger size may be due to the following factor: The planets are having movements in different ways depending upon the planet concerned. The Sun rotates on its fixed axis. It does not move from its position. The earth moves on its own axis and it also circles the sun. The moon rotates on its axis and also circles around the earth. The earth is on its axis with a slight tilt. The moon‘s circling of earth will have differences in the distance between earth and moon because of the tilt. When the moon comes near tilt it will appear to be bigger. It is natural for any object to look bigger when it is nearer and smaller when it is away. Since the moon is slightly erratic in its rotations, the phenomena may come once in a while instead of any regularity.
Since the matter is abstract, am not proficient in language, I am not sure whether I could explain my point clearly.
