Dr.M. K. Muneer lone son of former grate IUML leader C. H. Mohammed Koya. M. K. Muneer started his political carrier through the students wing Of Muslim League MSF. He served as the President of MSF late r he was elected to Councillor of Kozhikode Corporation.He is currently State Secretariat Member of Muslim League. He is also the Chairman of India Vision Television Channel

M. K. Muneer a Medical doctor, shown his immense interest toward art and music. He has composes ad penned number of Gazhal, M. K. Muneer is a good siner too. He won C. Achutha Menon Award for Literature in 1998. He is currently hosting a Television show on Music in a popular Malayalam Channel. He published a book on Sangaparivar, "Fascisavum Sangha Parivarum". the Inter Medicos Competition, he was selected as Best Singer, Best Painter, Best Actor and Best Cartoonist.

He contested his first assembly eletion in the year 2001, from Calicut –II constituency,. He was elected to 9 th Kerala Legislative assembly. He served as PWD minster in the A.K. Antony, ministry from 26.5.2001 to 29.8.2004.His conflicts with the IUML state secretary P. K. Kunhalikutty weakened his position in the party, which reflected in the 2006 Kerala Assembly election were he lost to Manjalamkuzhi Ali in Makkada Constituency
