Mattanchery Palace is one among the most widely visited tourist places in Kerala coming under the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This spectacular palace, well known as Dutch palace lies in Kochi. Amazing sculptures and mural paintings depicted on walls of Mattanchery Palace presents a real feast for visitors eyes. Fabulous architecture of Mattancheri Palace was constructed in ancient Nalukettu style depicting the great Kerala style of architecture. This royal palace beholding a courtyard in the middle owns a temple dedicated to Pazhayannur Bhagavathi. Palace also beholds two more temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva on its either sides. Today, Mattanchery Palace is a centrally protected monument and preserved by Archaeological Survey of India. Royal umbrellas, ivory palanquin and ceremonial dresses used by royalty are other attractions seen inside Mattanchery Palace.
