V.S.Achuthanandan in Latest Controversy

Recently, Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has been one of the newsmakers of 2011 by calling Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi as "Amul Baby". He told this at a meeting held in Palakkad. He also said that Rahul Gandhi has launched a number of amul babies in Kerala as Congress candidates. This was a hit back to Rahul Gandhi who had said that if LDF is re-elected, then Kerala would have a 93 year old as chief minister in 5 years' time. Congressmen saw this analogy as an insult to the party's youth icon. Various people have reacted to this description of Kerala CM. Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said the description was "uncivilized". Party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, "It's an insult to entire youth of the country, who in this millennium are resurgent. This comment is an insult to the momentum of youth power. The Congress has a youth icon and youth symbol in Rahul Gandhi, which no other party has. It shows that such persons/ parties are away from history."
