Kerala Style Kovakka Pickle

INGREDIENTS
1 kovakka -1 kg
2 Chilly powder -50 g
3 Turmeric powder -10 g
4 Mustard seeds -10 g
5 Ginger(chopped) -50 g
6 Sugar -1 tsp
7 Vinegar -200 ml
8 Asafoetida(kayam) -1/2 tsp
9 Fenugreek powder (uluva) -1 tsp
10 Gingelly oil -250 ml
11 Salt -100 gMETHOD
Chop kovakka into small pieces and cook in steam.Now heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.Then add ginger-garlic and saute for some time.Low the flame and add chilly powder,turmeric powder,asafoetida,fenugreek powder and stirr well.Add kovakka to this masala with salt and vinegar.store in an airtight container.
Fantastic.it gave out a taste that i never expected from kovakkai.
