The main intension of Parassininkkadavu snake park is to preserve and conserve rare varieties of reptiles. It beholds an amazing collection of about 150 snake species. You can see here a wonderful collection of snake species like king cobra, cobra, russel viper, krait, pythons and pit viper. Here there are three snake pits, two large glass houses for king cobras and fifteen glass houses for other snakes. You can also watch here other endangered species like Simhavalan monkeys and crocodiles. It also holds a laboratory for extracting and analyzing venoms from snakes. Administration of this snake park is done under the control of Pappinisseri vishachikitsa society. It is one among the important snakebit treatment centres in India and the only one in the state of its kind.
