S. K. Pottekkatt, the famous writer of Malayalam language, was born in kozhikode. Among the different works of S. K. Pottekkatt, Oru theruvinte kadha & Oru desattinte kadha have won him several awards. Jnanpith award


The Jnanpith award was instituted in the year 1961 & this is considered as one of the highest literary award in our country. Actually this is given by a trust named Bharatiya Jnanpith. It should be noted that the Malayalam writer G. Sankara Kurup is the first recipient of this Jnanpith award. The Jnanpith award was given to S. K. Pottekkatt for his novel 'Oru desattinte kadha'.

Kerala Sahitya Academy


The Kerala Sahitya Academy is situated in Trissur district of Kerala. Sri Chithira Tirunal Balarama Varma was the king who inaugurated this academy. It should be noted that Kerala Sahitya Academy is also known as the Academy for Malayalam literature. As the name indicates (Academy for Malayalam literature), remember that it promotes our Malayalam language.

Kendra Sahithya Academy Award


Sahithya Academy is considered as India's National Academy of Letters. The Sahithya Academy award was instituted in the year 1954.
