K. S. Chitra popularly known as the little nightingale of south India is a famous singer. She is one of the important singers who had won several awards for her great contributions to music. The interesting fact regarding her birth is that she was born into a family of musicians. She also did her training in Carnatic music under the guidance of Dr K. Omanakutty. After 15 years of marriage, Chitra & Vijayashankar were blessed with a daughter named Nandana in 2002. But on 14 April 2011, Nandana was drowned in a pool at a villa in emirates hills, Dubai. She passed away & her funeral was done at Chennai in Tamil nadu. Career of K. S. Chitra
