His wife is Lekha. Another interesting fact is that M. G. Sreekumar is the brother of M. G. Radhakrishnan & Dr K .Omanakutty. Sreekumar started his music career, he was working with state bank of Travancore. In the film Poochakkoru Mookkuthi directed in 1984, M. G. Sreekumar made his debut.
