Padmapriya was born on 02/28/1986 in Delhi as a daughter of Janakiraman and Vijaya. Her father is an brigadier in the Indian Army. Padmapriya completed 
her school life in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Trimulgherry, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh and she is a B. Com degree holder from Osmania University. Later Padmapriya done her MBA degree in Bangalore. Padmapriya came into film industry Through the movie Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi which is the Telugu remake of the movie Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum in 2003. Her role in Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi was the sister of blind man which was done by Praveena in Malayalam. She was also decided as a female artist of the movie in which Amitabh Bachan and Abhishek Bachan came in lead role which has to be directed by Rajkumar Santhoshi. But unfortunately this project does not come due to some unknown reasons.
Padmapriya came into Malayalam film industry through the movie Kaycha. The mother role of Padmapriya in the Malayalam film Kaycha was a turning point in her film life. It was her second film and Mammootty was the opposite male artist of the movie. Through Kaycha Padmapriya shows to the world that she is able to do any kind of role and she got Asianet Award for Best Female New Face of the Year through this movie.
