History of Ajanta Theatre
The Ajanta Theatre was founded by R. Subbiah or RS (nick name) in the year 1967. Shri R. Subbiah or RS was the son of Shri Ramalinga Moopanar, who was a grain merchant in Panagudi, Thirunelveli district of Tamilnadu in India. R. Subbiah was a hard working & sincere person. So after completing his education, RS came to Trivandrum in Kerala state, India to make his own living. Because of his good qualities, RS was honored by his colleagues & admired by his subordinates. This great person was involved in the distribution as well as production of films. In the early 50's the Central Theatre in Trivandrum was established by R. Subbiah. But the dreams of building another movie hall lead to the formation of Ajanta Theatre in the year 1967. Ajanta theatre was not built on a day. The whole facilities in the theatre were made after consultation with experts. That means the projection & cabin room, arrangements of seats, exits & entrances, acoustic effects etc were well planned so that this Ajanta theatre got wide publicity. This great person passed away in the year 1976. It should be noted that the hard working nature of RS was the success of Ajanta Theatre. Website of Ajanta Theatre
