IT raids at superstar’s offices and residences
Income tax officials carried out raids at the residences and offices of Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammooty. The raids were conducted on the residences and offices at cochi, Chennai and Bangalore. They were also conducted the raid on the house of Antony Perumbavoor.
On 22-07-2011 the IT officials were carried out raids on the residences and offices of both Malayalam actors Mohanlal and Mammooty and they also conducted the raid on the house of Antony Perumbavoor,a Malayalam film producer and intimate friend of Mohanlal,simultaneously. IT officials have some doubts in the Income tax returns, the superstars were filed to the government, are the cause of this accidental raid. The officials collect the documents from their residences and offices and they find the tusks from the Mohanlal's residence, so the forest department could initiate the following action against him. The both actors were not in the state at time of the raids. The operations that stared at 6.30 am lasted till 3.30 pm.
The Chief Conservator of Forests R Rajaraja Varma said if the Mohanlal had the ownership certificate issued from the froests Department, the tuskers could be kept at his house. Otherwise, action could be taken against him.
The searches were conducted as per section 132 of the Income- Tax act. Mammooty reached Kochi in the evening fromk chennai, but Mohanlal is yet to arrive as he is in Madurai shooting for Bless's Pranayam.
