He was an Arjuna award winner, who passed away in the year 30 November 1987 following a car accident. Now we can see the powerful smashes of Jimmy George in YouTube under the title "Jimmy George Volleyball Action". These videos were released by the Jimmy George Foundation on 15 August 2011. Another important point to remember about Jimmy George is that he was the first professional volleyball player of our country.

Apart from Arjuna Award, he had also won the Manorama Award & the G V Raja Award for his great contributions in the field of sports. When taking into consideration his sports career, it should be noted that he had played for the Indian team , Kerala police team, Kerala university team, Calicut university team & the St Joseph's High School Peravoor Team respectively. Jimmy George was considered as the talented player in the volleyball team of India that played for the Tehran Asian games (1974), Bangkok Asian games (1978) & the Seoul Asian games (1986) respectively.
