The new studio complex & corporate office of Asianet news will be inaugurated by A K Antony(Defence Minister) on 27 August 2011 at Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala state, India. Asianet editor in chief T N Gopakumar told that this event is also marking the 15th anniversary celebrations which are associated with several programs. The functions are organized in Kanakakkunnu Palace located in Thiruvananthapuram.
The function will be attended by cultural & political leaders, media personalities including Asianet news chairman Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Asianet communications managing director K Madhavan, Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy, speaker G Karthikeyan, M A Baby( former education minister), Prof Chandrachoodan(RSP leader), V Muralidharan(BJP President), Pannyan Ravindran(CPI assistant secretary), chief whip P C George, V S Achuthanandan(opposition leader), O N V Kurup & M T Vasudevan Nair(Jnanpith awardees), Frank P Thomas(Asianet director & business head), union ministers including K C Venugopal & Prof K V Thomas & state ministers like T M Jacob, V S Shivakumar, P K Kunhalikutty etc.
Apart from this, a seminar on media titled "15-years of Indian television journalism-Today & Tomorrow" will be conducted at the Kanakakkunnu Palace & the timing will be 10:30 hrs. to 13:00 hrs. This seminar will be attended by Sebastian Paul (media critic), Shashikuar(media development foundation chairman), Thomas Jacob(Malayala Manorama editorial director), M P Veerendra Kumar(chairman & managing director of Mathrubhumi daily) & by T J S George(editorial advisor of New Indian Express). It should be noted that as part of this celebrations, Mattannur Sankran Kutty Marar will perform Thayambaka & Ms Vinitha Nedungadi will stage Mohiniyattam.
