Biggest Mosque in India Shahre Mubarak Mosque coming up in Kozhikode
Shahre Mubarak Mosque, India's biggest mosque is been constructed by Markaz Saqafathi Sunni under the leadership of AP Aboobaker Musliyar at outskirts of calicut.
Shahre Mubarak Mosque to be constructed in the outskirts of calicut is proposed to be the biggest mosque ever established in India under the guidance of Markazussaqafathi sunni, karanthur, calicut. The Markaz is under the control of the AP sunni's under the leadership of Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar. Shahre Mubarak means the blessed hair of Islamic Messenger Prophet Muhammed (P.B.U.H). The mosque is named so because it will contain this hair in it.
The mosque will have a built-up area of 250.000 sq.ft.
The grand mosque is planned on a 12 acre plot with a large garden premises of 8 acres. It is beleived that the mosque can accomodate 25,000 beleivers at a time. The mosque will also contain a library for islamic research, a conference hall and auditorium for conducting islamic seminars where muslims and non-muslims are allowed.
The complete work of mosque is hoped to finish within two years. The complete budget of the grand mosque is 40 crore. According to the sources from Markazu-ssaqafathi sunniya the complete budget is acquired from contributions. They beleive to collect an amount of Rs. 1000 from 4 lakh people to make up this amount.
A Thrissur-based architect is the designer of the mosque. He wished to have a Mughal architectural style with the greenery around it.
