Laxmi Anand of Karnataka crowned the Hairomax Miss South India 2011 pageant title. This year edition of Miss South India was conducted at Gokulam Inn at Kochi on the eve of 5th November 2011. 16 candidates shortlisted from Tamilnadu, Andra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka walked the ramp to win the title. But Laxmi Anand bagged the title with her extra ordinary performance in the grand finale.
Participating in Miss South India was one her biggest ambition in life and interestingly she also won the title. She was little bit nervous during the initial stages of the event. But she came out with her best in the final rounds. Her bright answer to one of the questions from the judges 'what sets the Indian women apart from their western counterparts?' enabled her to win this mega title. She said that culture defines the persona of an Indian woman, and that the Indian women are traditionally modern and that their feet are always firmly on the ground. Elizabeth Thadikaran of Kerala produced a tight competition for her. Even the judges found it difficult to decide the title winner among these two contestants.
She is planning to participate in the upcoming Miss Queen of India contest. This pageant is scheduled in March 2012. Kate Moss is her role model. But Aishwarya Rai's Miss World title made her to pursue career in glamour.

Her performance in the audition rounds had made her the talk of the event. She has a immense amount of confidence and has the ability to achieve she is set for. Her friends and family always gave her a great support for all her activities. Self Confidence is her greatest strength. She has participated in many beauty contests. She had walked the ramp in Hyderabad fashion week and Zenora fashion week held at Dubai. She has also appeared in advertisements for MK silks and Nandu Textiles. But Hairomax Miss South India 2011 title is the biggest award ever secured in her life.
