Dam 999 Critical Review

Dam 999 Review – Theatres Responses
The movie which had invited a lot of controversies even though carries not much to impress the audience, but have to be appreciated for the boldness to bring up a story which might happen in the future too. We have seen movies which focus on themes related to natural disasters like earth quake, Tsunami, flood, volcano etc. But the theme of Dam 999 focuses on the disaster of a dam which can be a lethal water bomb which would bring more damage to human kind. The performance of Ahsish Vidyarthi as Durai in this movie gets more appreciation from the audience. Ajayan Vincent camera works too should be commented for bringing up the natural greenery of Kerala to some extend. The music of the film is quite soothing for the ears. Director Sohan too needs appreciation for portraying the world recognized arts forms of Kerala Kathakali and Kalaripayatu.

Dam 999 - Theatre responses from Kerala

The people of Kerala had much expectation for this movie as it is being directed by Sohan Roy who is a born Keralite. Many of the crew members who supported the movie too belong to the family 'Kerala'. While the theatres in metros like thiruvanthapuram and kochi had shown mixed response, the theatres in Thodupuzha and Idduki saw thick packed audience for Dam 999 where movie other than Malayalam had no survival. The climax part of the movie really ticked the hearts of the people while had seen the final disaster of the dam. Many sit shocked in their seat as the dam exploded.

Any way what ever may be the news whether the movie would survive in box office, the movie really gives an insight to an upcoming disaster which the people of Kerala are expected to face in the days near by.
