Mammootty is an Indian film actor who is famous through his films in Malayalam as well as Tamil languages. Other than acting, he is actively present in the fields like film production, film distribution and social works. He is very romantic male actor in Malayalam film field. The movies of Mammootty usually contain too much stunts and violence but instead they are family entertainers. He had acted as a police officer in much films like CBI Diary Kurip, Sethurama Iyer CBI (2004) and Nerariyan C.B.I etc. Due to his immense talents in the field of acting, Mammootty was awarded the Padma Shri title by the Government of India in 1998 for his national service, including his contribution to the Indian film industry. Mammooty is a Malayalam film actor, his full Name is Muhammadkutty Ismail Panaparambil. He was born in Chempu, Kottayam,Kerala, India, on 7 September 1951 in a Muslim family as a son of Ismail and Fathima. He has two brothers and three sisters. Zakariah and Ibrahim are the two brothers. Ibrahim is a film - serial actor. Ameena, Sauda and Shafina are the three sisters. On 1960s his his family was shifted to Ernakulam. He has completed his high school education at St. Albert's School and pre-Degree at Maharajas Collage. He completed L.L.B from Ernakulam Law College. In 1980 he got married to Sulfath and has two children; a son named Dulquer Salmaan and a daughter named Surumi. He had practiced as a lawyer for two years in Manjeri.
Through the Malayalam film Anubhavangal Paalichakal in 1971, he debut in film field. But it was a small role. in 1979 through the film Devalokam he professionally started his carrier in Malayalam cinema. Then he got more than little roles in Malayalam films most of them were tragedies. His next Malayalam film was Vilkkanundu Swapnangal, in this movie he acted in a supporting role. During the period of 5 years in between 1982- 1986 he had acted in more than 150 films. In 1987 he acted in the super hit film New Delhi, this movie has very importance in his life as an actor. During the period of 1984 to 1993 was a golden period in his acting career. The Malayalam movie Oru CBI Diary Kurippu in 1988 was his biggest hit during that period. In this movie he was a CBI officer. Then he got the same characters in some films like Jagratha (1989), Sethurama Iyer CBI (2004) and Nerariyan C.B.I (2005). The Awards owned films of Mammooty
Through the film Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, he had won highest position in film field. In this film he was acted in the role of a Chekavar. This character helped him to won National Film Award for Best Actor. It was the big turning point in his acting carrier. This movie was written by MT Vasudevan Nair, directed by T Hariharan. After this super hit movie he got lot of super hits in Malayalam film industry like Mrigaya, Amaram etc. Through the film Amaram he had won Filmfare award, in the role of fisherman. It was the product of famous director Bharathan. During this period he has also acted in some portrayed roles in Adoor Gopalakrishnan's movies name Videheyan, Anantaram, and Mathilukal. Through the film Mathilukal Mammootty had won National Film Award for best actor. The movie was based on the story of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's novel named Mthilukal. Mammooty had also acted in portrayed role in another film named Ponthan Mada was directed by T V Chandran. Both the portrayed films Ponthan Mada and Vidheyan helped Mammooty to win National Film award for best actor and State Award for his roles in both films. He had won the Filmfare award for acting in the Malayalam film Bhoothakannadi directed by Lohithadas it was in 1997. Its aim is to providing treatment for the poor peoples who have ophthalmic, cardiac, orthopedic, liver, renal dysfunctions, Haemophilia, ENT disease. Mammooty is also the goodwill ambassador of a charity project name 'Street India Movement', its aim to eradication of child labor and begging child. Mammootty is a sponsor of "Share International Foundation". It is a charitable organization and their aim is to removing inequalities between societies.
