Spanish Masala Malayalam movie directed by Lal Jose was released in 20th of January 2012. The movie is good to watch as an entertainer. Dileep and Kunchakko Boban played the male leads of Spanish Masala while Australian model and dancer Daniela Zacheri performed the female lead character. Lal Jose is one of the hit makers in Malayalam cinema and he well knows how to treat the audiences. Spanish Masala is quite different from other Malayalam movies, as it was shoot in Spain and have a different story theme (only to some extend). The visualization of the movie is so much delightful to see. The cast of Spanish Maslala includes Dileep, Kunchakko Boban, Daniela Zacheri, Biju Menon and some European artists too. Spanish Masala's story is narrated based on Charlie (Dileep), who is the central character of the movie. Charlie came into Spain as part of a mimicry program with his troupe. But because of some reasons he could not return to his native. He forced to live in Spain. But the survival at Spain is quite harder to Charlie because he even don't know the language. Later Charlie tries to occupy there as a chef in an Indian restaurant at Spain. On the other side the film brings up the story of Rahul and Cameela. Cameela is the daughter of an ex- ambassador of Spain in India. So she was brought up in India and has a strong relationship with India. Rahul is her friend who is an Indian. By the way Charlie enters into the life of Cameela and slowly the love begins.
Lal Jose with his team did a wonderful job by making Spanish Masala as a treat to the audience. His directional skills modify the film with excellent output. The first half of the film goes with comical style while the second half turns to emotions and sentiments. It seems not a good trend but due to the strong screenplay that fault may not be a main problem. The script was by Benny P. Nayarambalam and no doubt he did well his job. The beauty of Spain was excellently captured by the cinematographer Lokanathan. The Tomatina festival, Bull fighting and Flamenco dance were beautifully visualized in the film. The songs are beautifully tuned by Vidyasagar.
Actor Dileep does not disappoint his audience and fans, as he performed as nice as he can. And he gives a good film to them in this New Year. Dileep wise fully played the role of Charlie. Kunchakko Boban as Rahul also performed good in his role. But in case of Cameela, it feels she could have more expressive as she is the main female lead of this movie. As per the reports from theaters the film is an acceptable one and surely becomes a hit of 2012.
Watch Spnaish Masala in theatres to feel the real depth of the movie.
However the film is a good entertainer as well as scripted with a good story. Definitely it is recommended to watch the movie to see the excellent work of Lal Jose and Dileep.
