Last time when watched Arabiyum Ottakayum I have decided not to go for a Mohanlal movie as even I hated even the theatre which played the movie. But, just had an intuition that 'Casanovva' will not disappoint me so arrived at the theatre.
The story line of the movie is just simple. It's all about ‘Casanovva' who has a charismatic personality which makes him engage with ladies. He is the owner of an international chain of boutiques of the flowers ‘Casanova's Eternal Spring'. He is a busy business man who flies from one country to another. He is surrounded by young pretties where ever he goes. As Casanovva arrives in Dubai to attend a marriage function meets four high-fi robbers (Abhishek, Shamsi, Arjun and Vikram) who were on the black list of the Interpol. As the four had been related to one of casanovva's personal issue, he gets the support of Hanna (Lekshmi Rai) and Anne Mary(Roma) to track them down.
What was the problem with Casanovva and the robbers? Casanovva gets stuck in real love with Sameera (Shriya Sharan) who was a Salsa dance instructor. He falls in love with a girl who eventually gets killed by the robbery gang. What are the next plans of Casanovva? The rest is the movie.
What the movie had been projected to be didn't feel on screen. It was hyped to be a block buster after Narasimham. The first hours of the movie is interesting and will impress the audience but the movie lagged a lot as the later hours seemed to be total disaster. The team behind Casannova had taken much effort during the last two years which has to be appreciated. The hard work behind the camera (cinematography) has to be mentioned here. None of the songs in the movie will make the audience dance to the tune.
In short if you liked Arabiuyum Ottakayum, the movie 'Casanovva' is recommended if you are interested to spend 3 hours before the screen. Or if you can't resist yourself spending money for the movie, other options other than 'Casanovva' are
• Recharge your mobile phone(Rs 100)
• Buy 1 kg of apple or orange
• Come home – Sleep well
Verdict – Just pass it
Rating – 5/10
padam kandu... Its like someone else commented here.. " pavanayi Shavamayi ". If you like the movie "Red Chillies" you should watch this, u will like this. This is nothing more than " Mohanlal + women in modern dress + costly cars + men jumbing from buildings ". So it is Red chillies + men jumbing from buildings. Jokes apart.. I strogly demand an apology from the start and crew for their idiotic commets on the respected christian sisters and convents.
