Mallu Singh is an romantic comedy thriller directed by Vysakh. The film features Unni Mukundan,Kunchako Boban,Biju Menon,Manoj K Jayan. The film all about a Malayali boy who went to punjab for living. The film is written by Sachi-Sethu.
Mallu Singh is the new Malayalam film which will have Unni Mukundan playing the title role. The film was earlier decided to be done with the young superstar Prithviraj in the cast. But due to the date clashes associated with him doing films like masters and hero, Prithviraj backed off from the project. The director then sought out in search of a new actor who could reprise the role of Mallu Singh. It was then that Unni Mukundan emerged in the scenario. The film is about a malayali boy who went to Punjab for a living. Unni Mukundan plays Harvinder Singh who is forced to take up a job in Punjab the film was entirely shot in various locations of Punjab and Cochin. Karthika Nair plays the heroine of the film after a break from Malayalam. She had earlier acted in a Santhosh Sivan starrer Makara Manju. The film story is developed by Sachi – Sethu and music is by M. Jayachandran.Cinematography is by Shaji and editing is by Manoj. The film will be distributed by Mamooty's production house Playhouse media.
The film will be one of the biggest projects Unni Mukundan will ever get in his start. His entire life would depend on how well he reprises the character of Mallu Singh. For the character can make him an overnight superstar and at the same time if the film flops, producers will fear to cast him again in another venture.
