Balyakalasakhi malayalam movie - Megastar Mammootty in lead role

No Malayalam film viewer might have forgotten the Adoor Gopalakrishnan classic Mathilukal and the performance of Megastar Mammootty as immortal writer Vaikom Muhammed Basheer. Mathilukal, which was the semi-autobiographical account of the Beypore Sultan, had garnered many honours. Mammootty also bagged a National award for his portrayal of Basheer.

Now, again Basheer and Mammootty are finding place in the news together, through Balyakalasakhi. Balyakalasakhi, which tells the love story of Majeed and Suhra, is one of the most renowned novels by Basheer. Now, it is getting adapted into a movie. And, the male protagonist Majeed will be portrayed by none other than our own Mammootty. Newcomer Pramod Payyannur is the director of Balyakalasakhi. Pramod is famous for his mini screen productions. The artworks by Santosh Raman for the movie have already impressed the audience.

The songs are composed by renowned Ghazal singer and composer Shahabaz Aman. Veteran music director K Raghavan master has also composed a song. And it will make the 97 year old legend the oldest music composer in the world and fetch a Guinness record. The song is 'Thamarapoonkavanathil Thamasikkunnole' which is sung by the music maestro KJ Yesudas. The director says the steps have been taken to contact the Guinness officials. The other cast of Balyakalasakhi has not been finalised yet.

Another speciality of Balyakalasakhi is that it gives the oppurtunity to many talented aspirants to act in the film. The actors will be selected by conducting a workshop. The interested young people can apply in the address below.
