Claiming tn be with a different theme, the new movie Father's Day, scripted and directed by Kalavoor Ravikumar is getting ready to be released. This is the second Malayalam film of Ravikumar. He made his directorial debut in the film Oridathoru Puzhayundu. He has also worked as the scriptwriter for Sibi Malayil's Ishtam, P Sukumar's 'Swa.Le' and 'Ottayal Pattalam'. A big speciality of the movie is that Oscar winner Resul Pookutty is making a guest appearance in the movie. It will be the first on-screen act of him.

Story and Cast


Father's Day is all about the sensitivity in the relationships. Revathi plays the role of Seethalakshmi, an unmarried teacher. Madhan, her long lost friend is portrayed by Lal. These two characters and other important characters played by Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijay Menon, Shankar, Suresh Krishna and Idavela Babu forms the story. Newcomer Shaheen and Former Miss Kerala Indu Thampy are the main representatives of the young generation. This is the acting debut of Indu Thampy. The songs are composed by MG Sreekumar and Sajiv Mangalath. The lyrics are penned by the legendary ONV Kurup and B Sreekala. Background score is composed by Neeraj Gopal. The film is produced by Bharath Samuel.

Father's Day is expected to hit the theatres on 17th February 2012.
