After contributing a number of blockbusters to the Malayalam cinema, the Lal-Mammootty team is coming again. This time they are pairing up in the film script and directed by Lal himself. The movie is named Cobra and cited as a humorous thriller. The Mammootty-Lal team has been instrumental in some hit movies such as Thommanum Makkalum and Best Actor. Cobra tells the story of two friends Raja and Kari. They are Boxers in Delhi. Raja and Kari are together called Cobras, one being King Cobra and other is Black Cobra. They have a special affection towards anything that sounds 'Ko'. Raja and Kari have taken an oath that they will marry only two sisters. Then, the plan to spend rest of life in native Kottayam. But feeling discomfort, they leave Kottayam and reach Koyambatore. The later incidents form the rest of the movie.
Megastar Mammootty and Lal portrays Raja and Kari respectively. Padmapriya and Kaniha are the heroines of Cobra. Salim Kumar, Babu Antony, Jagathy Sreekumar, Manian Pillai Raju, Lalu Alex and Ramu are other important actors. The movie is scripted by the director Lal himself. The lyrics are by Santosh Varma and music is composed by Alex Paul. The film is said to hit the theatres on 12 April as Mammootty's Vishu release.
