Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty malayalam movie release date - February 17, 2012

Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty is the new Malayalam film directed by T.K.Rajeev Kumar. The film will star the new sensation Unni Mukundan in the lead along with Nitya Menon. The film will also have notable actress Swetha Menon playing a very important role. T.K. Rajeev Kumar had earlier directed the film Rathinirvedham which had Swetha Menon and Sreejith Vijay in the lead. The film was a remake of the classic film which had Jayabharathi in the lead. The remake became a success in Kerala box office and the film set a new launch pad for Swetha Menon.

This time T.K.Rajeev Kumar is back in place with the film Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty where Nithya Menon and Swetha Menon will have much more heavy characters than others. The film is about a normal village girl who decides to enter a new reality show that is being launched. The show is such that it will feature the life of a girl 24x7. Nithya Menon enters the show seeing the glamour and the popularity whereas after some time she gets to understand the intricacies involved in such shows making the life a terrible enterprise for her.

Swetha Menon comes up this time as the producer of the reality show. Again with a role that demands attention, Swetha seems to be getting much better roles after her revival in 2011 with some good films like Rathinirvedham and Salt N Pepper.

Apart from these main cast the film also has actors like Baburaj, Siddique, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Tinytom and Baiju in important roles. The film is one of the rare films that have come up on the concept of reality shows. Almost all the channels these days have their own trademark reality shows on offer. Considering the market for such shows new and new forms of such shows are cropping every day. Recently Asianet has launched Kodeeswaran show, Mazhavil Manorama had been quite successful with Veruthe Ala Bharya and Surya is coming up with World Pit Show.

The serials and soaps have become secondary to TV channels considering the mass response for such reality shows. So it is natural for the T.K.Rajeev Kumar to come up with a film that explains the inner games that is normally present in these reality shows to increase the TRP ratings.

The story and screenplay of the film has been done by Sunny Joseph while the film ha some good melodies written by B R Prasad and Murukan Kattakada. The film will reach the theatres on February 17 2012 all over Kerala.
