Souhrudam summer camp organized by Rajagiri Outreach
Rajagiri Outreach, wing of Rajagiri Collage of social science, has been conducting summer camps for children called souhrudam camps. There are trying to mix fun with some relevant social themes and aim to focus on public and personal health. It is also the golden chance for kids to create their habits and individual health.
Souhrudam summer camp is welfare program developed for children by Rajagiri Outreach, is a wing of Rajagiri Collage of Social science. They have been conducting the program for children every year. Through this program they are trying to mix fun with some important social themes. This year they are planning some programs aiming at sensitizing children about public health. It is need to make children aware the about public and personal health. Every year the program has been attending by more than 50000 children. Their aim is to make the children health conscious as nowadays the kids are victims of certain disease like obesity due to unhealthy lifestyle.
The three day non - residential camp aims on the theme 'Public health' with sub themes like family health and individual health. Through this program the children can know about their physical, mental and social aspects. Hundreds of skilled volunteers from Rajagiri Outreach will lead the camps. The camps will be conducted in various location of the state in April- May. It is a unique opportunity for children to conduct various activities under public health. It is also the time for the kids as well as parents to rethink their habit and health. The participants in the camp will get an opportunity to visit local villages and can study about their habits and lifestyle. In this program the children will get information and knowledge about health aspects by various activities, project works, songs, games, performances and group sessions.
Antony is the director of the Souhrudam camps in the state. The children including 4 to 16 age group can participate in the program. A booklet of Sauhrudam camp activities which include CDs badge/ certificate will be distributed to the percipients. With the help of these volunteers the camps will be conducted in the respective wards/ areas like local committee, health institutions, local peoples, government schools and institutions.
