While studying at class 8, Shaalin was picked by Sujith Sunder (Director of Autograph) to play the character of Deepa Rani. Shaalin proved to play the mature role to which she was casted making the character safe in her hands.

For her brilliant performace in Autograph, Shaalin was awarded with Asianet Ayucare Television Award 2011 for the 'Best New Face' of the year and the Kazhcha Television Award 2011 for 'Best Actress' for the role.

The much popular role in Autograph was really a stepping stone for Shaalin as Lal Jose cased her in the movie 'Elsamma Enna Aankutty'. No one could stop her winning the Vayalar Award for 'Best Child Artist' for playing the role as her youngest sister. Motivated by her mother, Shaalin brought up the passion for dancing. Eying on the performance of Manju Warrier and Jyothika, Shaalin aims high to be a director inspired by film director Gautham Menon.

Shaalin looks forward for the year 2012 supported by her business man father and mother. Shaalin had acted in the recent malayalam movie Mallu Singh which is currently running successfully in release theatres.
