The actor who completed 52 years on 21st May 2012 has shared his thoughts in a letter titled ‘Two mothers in my mind'. While many cultural leaders didn't move up their lip to utter a single word about the issue, Mohanlal articulated his concern through words written in his own handwriting. The letter portraits his immense grief attached to the illness of his mother and as well as of the departed soul of Revolutionary Marxist party leader T.P.Chandrasekharan who was scythed by a gang of unidentified attackers.
Mohanlal begins the letter "It's my birth day on May 21st... time for joy", but this year, in the midst of the sea of pain my birthday delight remains buried'. He remembers about two mothers, his own mother suffering from bad health admitted in the hospital for 3 months and T P Chandrasekharan's mother who lost her son. He mentioned that ‘I have gone through the agony faced by mother while I was in pain. So I know the feeling of a mother who found her son cut into pieces'. Lal remarks.
He continues 'After my mother fell ill, she stopped reading newspaper. Otherwise she would have broken down reading the heart felt news regaring the death of T P Chandrasekharan'.
Eventhough I have not met T.P.Chandrasekharan, from the newspaper I understand that he might be of my age. So his mother should also around the age of my mother'. Reading the news about the brutal murder while in the hospital I asked myself 'Can these assassinators who commited the murder, ever create a life? I'm not talking politics but feel unsecured to live in this land of killing and contract killing', Is kerala becoming the land of Lunatic Asylum? Mohanlal concludes his post keeping these thoughts open for all malayalees to think.
