Kapalika malayalam movie - Sona Nair ready to pump up the mood

Aanadruthayaya Kapalika an adaptation of Late N.N Pillai's renowned play 'Kapalika' is now set as a 30 minute tele film directed by Preethi Panikar. Sona Nair depicts the role of Rosamma, a sex worker/prostitute nicknamed as Kapalika. Sona Nair had crafted a good figure among the family audience with her presence in television and movies over the past few years. But now Sona had featured in a movie which put forward an open revelation of a sex worker and visually renders her life beyond imagination. The premiere show of the tele film was screened at Kairali Theatre in Thiruvanathapuram which was crowded by movie fans wishing to get its first taste.

Earlier 'Snehitha Magazine' featuring Sona Nair slightly exposing the rear side wearing a belly chain had got wide attention.Sona Nair as seen on Snehitha cover page, the magazine also carried an interview with the actress titled as Sona Nairku Paisachikamaya Oru Agraham. Sona Nair who played the character role of Rossama had tried to present it neatly before the camera. It was her first experience to smoke and drink giving a perfect image to Kapalika. The other cast of the movie includes Madhu, B. Harikumar, Chunakkara Ramankutty, Leela Panicker, Sreelatha, Madhusoodanan, Siva Kumar, Satheesh and Jayanthi. Aanadruthayaya Kapalika is produced by Madhusoodanan Mavelikkara while the screenplay is written by Rajeev Gopalakrishnan. Aswin Johnson had scored the music for the movie and the cinematography is done by Sunny Joseph.



In the primary stage while approached by the director to get casted in Kapalika as the lead role, Sona thought of dropping it as she was aware about the heavy cost she had to pay in future. Taking it as a challenge Sona did node for the role which had made her proud to be the most satisfying roles done in her career.

Even though being an adaptation of N N Pillai's play, the story has a slight change adaptable to the present situations. In the original version Kapalika who was cheated by a man was forced to live as a prostitute. But the tele film speaks about the character that lives for others by giving away the earning for charity.

The movie which was screened for the public got well reception from the audience. It is known that the 30 minutes shot film will be screened at the festivals and also released in a DVD version.
