Famous political leader in Kerala and JSS party Chief K R Gouriyamma won the Kerala Sahitya Academy award 2011 for her autobiography.'Manushyanu Oramukham' written by Subhash Chandran won the award under the category of best novel and 'Policukarante Penmakkal' written by U.K.Kumaran won the award under the category of best Short Story. Kureeppuzha Sreekumar's 'keezhalan' has been selected as the best poem and Balasubramanyan's 'Cholliyaattam' bagged the best drama award.K. Radhakrishnan's 'Gandhijiyude Atmakatha Kuttikalkku' won the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Prize for children's literature.
