Nayanthara is a well known Malayalam actress tops the list among the A listed celebrities in both Bollywood and south Indian cinema rankings. Her contribution to both the sectors has been phenomenal and therefore she has received many laurels and awards to her name. Nayanthara is basically a born to a Malayali Christian family and was known with the name as 'Diana Mariam Kurian'. Her parents Kurian Kodiyattu and Omana Kurian were Chennai based because of their respective professions. During her early part of her life, she studied in various states including Gujarat, Chennai and in North India. She performed exceptionally well during her schooling years.
Following her studies, she did her high schooling from Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Chennai and later did her graduation in English Literature from Marthoma College. At the age of 19 years, when she was heavily involved in her college studies, she had the profession of a part time modelling that saw her to reach the prime position of signing her first film when director Sathyan Anthikkad brought the talented Nayanthara to the silver screen for the first time in 2003 as a Malayalam actress. She was assigned the role in the movie Manassinakkare opposite actor Jayaram. The film had a huge roar of success in the year 2003. From there, Nayanthara never looked back.
Following the success, she did two role plays in the movies- Natturajavu and Shaji Kailas in 2004 that received huge recognition to her. Her success story of model turned actress became a huge tenacity to all the people from Chennai and Kerala. She then started to share the space with some leading actors in the southern division along many psychological thrillers and many documentaries. After following her huge fan base for Malayalam movies, there was no time that she started receiving Tamil movie signings for the first time. She signed her first tamil movie- Ayya in 2005. The movie fetched her a good positive response from the audiences of Tamil Nadu. She was later offered the second movie – Chandramukhi opposite to Rajnikanth where her fabulous work made the tamil crowds turn wild into the cinema theatres. The movie was the longest historical running successful movie which went non-stop for 800 days in the Tamil cinemas. This made Nayanthara, the most famous of all time in Tamil film industry breaking all records. Her third film – Ghajini turned even more beautiful for her in the year 2005 which made her to top the chart for the famous tamil actresses in the year 2005. It was a no wait for her, until she signed her first telugu film – Lakshmi in the year 2006 beginning. She also won many laurels for her screen shots. She then performed a lead role in three simultaneous tamil films named Vallavan, Thalaimagan and E which also fetched her a surprising response which turned all good to her.
Her tamil cinema success roar continued as she made another successful hit at the box office with the remake of Vishnuvardhan in 2007. Her touching performance and growing appraisal continued when she gave her best shots in the movies which critcs believed that Nayanthara was at her best during those times. Nayanthara who had a passion for Malayalam Movies was at her best with the Tamil film industry giving back to back superhits. She was said to have done five movies in four different south Indian languages. In the year 2010, she did her best role in BodyGuard which was a huge successful Malayalam movie that year. Following her successful campaign, other three included – Adurs, Simha and Boss Engira Bhaskaran and movie Super in Kannada. All these gave her a positive feedback and she rolled into Top 2 spot for the best South Indian Actress after Shriya Saran. She then started receiving many nominations for Filmfare Awards on frequent basis for her works.
Her mythological release Shri Rama Rajyam in the year 2011 was brilliant for her critical role that she displayed. This movie saw something quite different from the actress. At this period of life, she was linked with actor director Prabhu Deva and even magazines quoted that they had a silent marriage. At this period of time, disputes quoted around Nayanthara because Prabhu Deva was willing to marry her without giving divorce to her wife. This saw a big protest among many people that saw Nayanthara disregarding the religious views of the Tamil Film Industry.
However after 11 months of tough time, she had a break up with Prabhu Deva and came back big time in 2012 with the successful movie – Rana Daggubati that saw a huge success and roar. She also followed a satirical love in the movie Akkineni Nagajuna in 2012.
