General information about Marari Marari beach is a little known beach in Alapuzha. The word Marari originates from 'Mararikulam', the local fishing village in Alleppy. Marari beach is not a famous tourist destination. It is quiet,sleepy and calm with lots of sand peaks. The most important part of Marari is it's fishermen and their life. You can see the world as it was 100 years ago. The temperature in Marari is warm and humid. The best time to visit Marari is from October to May.
How to reach Marari beach Marari beach is barely 11km from Alleppy town and 70 km from Kochi. This place can be accessed by almost all sorts of transportation. If you want to travel by air, there are two airports; Thiruvananthapuram International airport at a distance of 155km away and Kochin International airport at 85 km away. A railway station is there in Alleppy, known under the same name 'Mararikulam'. Marari has an excellent road ways which connects all the main cities and towns. NH 47 passes through S.L.Puram, which is 5 km to the east of Mararikulam. For those who want to enjoy the beauty of Kuttanad, boats are the best. And many of the main attractions in Alleppy are easily accessed by foot.
