Meenkunnu Beach is a relatively unknown beach in Azhikode village near Kannur.
Meenkunnu beach is located in Azhikode and is about 12 kilometers from the kannur Town in the northern parts of Kerala. The beach is not very well known and an uncrowded one. The beach can be a tourists paradise, if chosen, with its golden sands and turf.
Meenkunnu beach is an extension of the Payyambalam Beach. The name meenkunnu means a hill of fishes in the local language malayalam. Meen means fish and Kunnu means hill.
Best Season to travel will be October to May after the monsoon rains are over in Kerala.
How to reach Meenkunnu Beach
You have to reach Kannur which is the nearest city. From there you can travel by road transport like Cabs, autos or buses to reach the beach. Kannur is the nearest railway station . This station is well connected to all the nearby towns of Kerala and Karnataka states.
If you are traveling by air you have to reach Karipur international iport of calicut, which is about 93 kilometers away from Kannur.
