The story of the movie is centred upon intense human relations. Written by Dr. K Ampady, Ayal is produced by Madhudoodanan Mavelikkara - M T Dileep under Seashell Movies and Elements Vision.
Ayal is about the intense human relations while it focus on the life of a Guru Dasan. It picturises, the shades of love and problemetises the conventional concepts, its rules and inviolability. It could be an insurgence against the simulated morality often professed and practiced in Kerala.
The story which is set in late 1950's, uses the symbols of Serpentine Worship and socio political risings which happened during the period. Dasan a practitioner of Pulluvan had an aura of recognized divinity around him. Dasan lived with his two wives, Janaki and Chakara. Janaki had true love towards Dasan while Chakara was too possessive. During the course of time, Dasan gets fervent towards Devaki Antharjanam, the wife of the village landlord.
As the ascribed divinity was around him, no one could question him. An event which happened later brought out the obstinacy and quality of relations he had with the women. The film is an attempt to go beyond the normal definitions of love and to search the flowering of bonds which get deep rooted than love.
Actor/Director Lal would don the lead role of Gurudasan while Ineya plays Chakara and Lakshmi Sarma essays the role of Janaki. Lena will be seen as the mysterious Devaki Antharjanam. Dr V.Venu IAS a product of Abhinaya School of Drama is also casted in an important role. The story, screen play and dialogue are written by Dr.K.Ampady a 2002 batch Civil Service Officer. Ayal is produced by Madhudoodanan Mavelikkara - M T Dileep under Seashell Movies and Elements Vision. For the lyrics of Devadas and MT Pradeep Kumar, the music is set by Mohan Sitara, Somashekharan Unnitan and MG Anil. T. With five songs, the musical treatment would deliver the feel of yester year.
Starting his career as an assistant director to Padmarajan, Suresh's directorial debut was Jathakam which was followed by Radhamadhavam, Satyaprathinja, Mukha Chithram, Utsava Melam, Aardram, Bhagyavan, Thovalapookkal, Harishyashringan and Nagabandham. Swamy Ayyappan which was too directed by Suresh for a television channel was the most popular and top rated serial in Malayalam.
