Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple is one of the famous temple coming under the administration of Cochin Devaswom Board. The Goddess Rajarajesweri is worshipped here as Saraswathy in morning, Lakshmi at noon and Durga in the evening. Along with Lakshmi the idols of lord Narayana, Brahma, Siva, Ganesh, Subrahmanya and Sastha are also present on the same temple. The most important featival in Chottanikara Bhagavathy temple is 'Makam Thozal' which is celebrated in the month of Kumbham (February/March).

Navarathri featival is celebrated during the month of Kanni. On Vijayadasami day the Vidyarambham is conducted at temple where babies from 3-6 age is given the starting of reading, writing and arithmetic. Vrishchika Mandla Mahotsavam is another festival celebrated in Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple. The Thrikkarthika festival is also conducted in this month and it is the birthday of Goddess Rajarajesweri. One lakh lamps will be lighted in the temple on the day of Makaravilakku. The annual festival in the temple starts on Rohini day in the Kumbam season.
