The Main Issues of Kerala IPL Team
After a rocking fight with the IPL Chairman Lalit Moddy, Kerala bagged the IPL team for an amount of 1530 crore, much more than the cost of the first 8 IPL teams. It is the Rendezvous Sports World Limited that gave us this gift and opportunity. IPL is not simply cricket it's cricket and business; a profitable business.
But there are certain issues which we need to look into;
It is a fact that Kerala IPL team won't get a good and strong team. Next season onwards the competitions are going to be more tight with the presence of 10 teams rather than the 8 teams now. And the main issue arises is about players.Other IPL teams wont be giving their main players. There is a provision for that.They will retain the main three foreign players in the team itself. And the players they will be giving are out of form players. Kerala team can't hold the IPL cup by these players, Kerala IPL team can only play cricket with them.
The home ground for the Kerala IPL team will be outside the state most probably.This will give a weak ground support to the team and Kerala state won't be getting profit much as other States. Although Kerala Cricket Association is doing their best to make stadiums for next season's IPL matches, it can't be completed. The reasons behind this is the climatic conditions like rain and certain political issues.
If Lalit Moddy is able to prove that he is innocent, he will retain the chair of IPL chairman and that may lead to some issues to Kerala IPL team.
Kerala cricket is not having a list of good domestic players to play. The domestic players for other teams are those who know much about international cricket and are playing it now.Kerala don't have such players.The player Kerala is having is Sreesanth, who is even not in the team itself
Some of the politicians, even the Ministers think that IPL team for Kerala will lead to corruption in various sectors. Many are opposing the IPL itself. Even our Sports Minister was not ready to attend for the meeting with Kerala IPL owners. Later it was proved that his words to defend the absence in the meeting was an utter lie.
Any way if these problems are solved, the team will lead to a new chapter in Kerala economy and tourism.
