'Manjil Virinja Pookkal' is the story of Prem Krishnan (Shankar), Prabha (Poornima Jayaram) and Narendran (Mohanlal). The story starts with Prem's visit to Kodaikkanal. He finds the girl Prabha and falls in love with her. But she was married once. Prem do not know this and she never told this fact to him. The story moves to a new turn after the introduction of Prabha's husband, Narendran. Narendran wants his girl back. He was a handsome but cruel villain.
