The National Bravery Awards for Indian Children- Country honouring the brave hearts on Republic Day
India honours the brave hearts of the country on the Republic day, 9 girls and 14 boys, will be felicitated by the Bravery Awards on the 61st Republic day of the country by the Prime minister of India Manmohan Singh. I t is a matter of pride for Kerala that out of the 23 won the national award for Bravery four are from Kerala.

India honours the brave hearts of the country on the republic day, 9 girls and 14 boys, will be felicitated by the Bravery Awards on the 61st republic day of the country by the Prime minister of India Manmohan Singh. I t is a matter of pride for Kerala that out of the 23 won the national award for Bravery four are from Kerala. Two awards are posthumously. And the country is honouring the Kids who raised voice against Child marriage, despite of the brutality toward them they refused to get married at a younger age. President Prathiba Patil expressed her happiness in more number of girls are in list "they will be reason for the empowerment of their downtrodden community."
National Awards for children under the age of 16 was established to honour the brave hearts of the country in the Year 1957 by Indian Council for Child welfare (iccw). First prime minister of India Nehru was the one who introduced the awards for the brave children of the country.
In 1957 when Nehru was attending a function in the red fort a Decorated tent caught fire due to short circuit, a 14 year old boy named Harish Chandra a scout took our this knife and ripped the rope saving life's of hundreds. This incident made Nehru to imitate award for the brave children.
The major awards of honour are Geeta Chopra award, Sanjay Chopra Award, Bharat Award, Bapu Gaidhani AwardBharat Award
Bharat Award is the most prestigious of all, the award winner will receive gold medal and financial assistance to complete their school education and Scholar ship for professional courses.
2009 Bharat award for braver is awarded to 13-year-old Gaurav Singh Saini of Haryana. Gaurav saved around 60-50 people in a stampede in Naina Devi Temple that occurred on 3rd august 2008.Geeta Chopra award
The prestigious Geeta Chopra award is the second category awards the winner will be honoured with silver medal. The 12 year old girl Jimsy from Kerala save the life's of two drowning children from 15 feet deep water.Sanjay Chopra Award
Sanjay chopra award the winner is honoured with silver medal. 10-year-old Priyanshu Joshi from Uttarakhand, is honoured with the Sanjay Chopra for his brave effort to save his brother from a leopard. He fought with with the animal bare hand in the effort to save his brother.Bapu Gaidhani Award
The winners are honoured with silver medal and Scholarship. There are four candidates for the prestigious Bapu Gaidhani Award that including two posthumously. Ranu Mishra , a ten year old girl from Uttar Pradesh lost her life in the effort to save her brother and friend from drowning. Deepak Kumar Kori boy from UP sacrificed his life to save the drowning girl as the whole village looked on. Vijith V of Kerala is honoured with Bapu Gaidhani Award for his brave effort to save 4 drowning children. Narendrasinh Solanki(Gujarat) saved his father from the clutches of a Crocodile made him the winner of Bapu Gaidhani AwardOther Award Winners
Among the others the prominent name is of those girls Rekha Kalindi, Sunita Mahato, and Afsana Khatun. Revolted against the social menace of Child marriage despite of the torture they helped the police to make the sketches of the culprits.
Gurjeevan Singh of Punjab was awarded for his heroic fight with the armed bank robbers. He fought the men with gun with bricks. He attacked those throwing bricks at them even when they opened fire at him. When the gun slipped from them other managed to catch them
Moonis Khan from Bhopal won the award for kind of a filmy effort saving a old women from a running train.The award winners
