The Preliminary Examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the services and posts will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on 12th June 2011Eligibility
Age limit: Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 01-08-2011 (Relaxation as per Govt rules).
Educational qualification: Degree from recognized university or an equivalent qualification.Application Fee

For those applying offline, Rs 100/- through central recruitment fee stamp only(GEN, OBC)
No fee for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates

For those Who are applying online Rs 50/- in any branch of S.B.I.

The eligible Candidates may also apply offline in the common application form devised by the commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head post office/post offices through the country against cash payment of Rs 30/.

Plan of Examination/Examination Pattern
The civil services examination will consists of two successive stages
1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination(Objective Type) for the selection of Candidates for the Main Examination.
2. Civil Services Main Examination Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various service and posts.
Applications are now invited for the preliminary examinations only.Candidates who are declared by the Commision to have qualified for admission to the Main Examination will have to apply again, in the detailed application form which would be supplied to them. The main examination will be likely to be held in October/November 2011.
