2011 Theme for International Women's Day 2011


Women's Day this year on March 8th 2011 marks the day as2011 Theme for International Women International Women's Day which is the 100th year celebration. The first celebration of Women's day was on March 19th in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. In many countries this day is observed as an official holiday. In some countries they will declare this day as a holiday for women only, in a way to honour them. The reasons for celebrating Women's Day is to acknowledge women's contribution in world peace and security and a day to remember their struggle for equality, peace and development by them. During this day everyone send greetings, small gifts, flowers or some sorts of special things to their mothers, girl friends, sisters, wife and the women whom they respect.
