Urumi tells the story of the boy who wanted to kill The Portuguese invader Vasco Da gama . Urumi scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan live up to the standards of any other epic tale. Uruimis script has given complete justification to the history of Kolothunadu in the 16 th century

Prithvi raj plays the lead role in Urumi, Kelu Nayanar, , Kelu Nayanar (Prithvi Raj) is the mission to kill Vaco Da Gama. Kelu ayanar is taking revenge on Vaco d agama for the massacre of a Mecca Ship. Vacoda Gama Set fire to the ship and Drawn it during his visit to Kerala.

Kelu has a forte, a legendary golden Urumi, specially made from the left over ornaments of the dead women and children who were burnt alive in the massacre of a Mecca Ship. Kelu Nayanar well supported by well supported by Vavali, a Muslim character and Kelu Nayaras child hood friend played by Tamil Movie star Prabhudeva set out in the mission of Assassinating Vasco da Gama

On his journey to build army against Vasco da Gama Kelu Nayanar has to face lots of Challenges, he has to encounter aginst all the odd thing, he fights again the Mighty warring Muslim warrior princess Ayesha (Genelia) of the famed Arackal Sultanat.

Urumi is the story of a betrayal also, the movie advances with how Kelu Nayanar Plots against Vasco da Gama and what the fate of his mission to assassinate the Vasco Da Gama. Vidaya Balan, Arya and Tabu are in a cameo for the movie but important in the sense of the story. Nitha menon has an important role of Princess Bala, who has pivot role mission of Kelu Nayanar . Every other cast has done thire role well, Arya in the cameo has done a good job.

It is important o mention the santhosh sivans cinematography, the breath taking visual of fight sequences and the ravishing frames the Malshej Ghat.Songs by Deepak dev are good.
