The announcement of the winner for Shornur constituency in the Kerala Elections 2011 has been made. K.S Saleekha wins the election in the Shornur constituency. There was not enough competition at all in this constituency and it was an easy win for K.S Saleekha. She won the election by a margin of 13493 in comparison to her immediate rival Santha Jayaram of INC. K.S Saleekha is a committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). She won the Shornur constituency election with 59616 votes in Palakkad district of Kerala. In 2008, she shifted from the position of panchayat head to Kerala's only Muslim MLA. Her determination and firmness should be an inspiration to other Muslim women to enter into politics.
