I know that swimming caps are not the most attractive looking things, but one can really save your hair from damage. If you plan on swimming a lot this summer and your hair type does not react well to water, you should really consider wearing a swimming cap. A swimming cap will protect your hair from the water, leaving it healthy and soft. Just secure your hair with a rubber band before you put the swimming cap on your head.

Tie Your Hair Up
Tie your hair up in a bun or ponytail before you go swimming. Doing this will prevent your hair from getting really tangled and messy and in the water. Putting your hair up will also prevent it from getting wet if you do not plan on going underwater.

These tips should help you keep your hair healthy during the summer without having to give up swimming. After you get done swimming, make sure to rinse out the chlorine or saltwater out of your hair. Also spray your hair with some leave-in conditioner to soften it.
