Renjith is doing the job of a script writer and director again after his hit film 'Pranchiyettan and the saint' in a new film with Prithviraj. The film is named as 'Indian Rupee'. The switch on function of the film was held at Calicut. The producers of the film are Prithviraj, Shaji Nateshan and Santhosh Shivan. The switch on function was held in front of the statue of S.K Pottakkadu in the sweet market.

Prithviraj is doing the main role in the film. Rima Kallingal is the heroine in the film. Thilakan, Jagathi Sreekumar, Lalu Alex, Mamukkoya, Baburaj, Madhupal, Suresh Krishna, Babu Namboothiri, Abu Salim, T Sudhakaran, Tini Tom, Kottayam Nasir, T.P Madhavan, Sasi Eranikkal, Sasi Kalimga, Swetha Menon, Mallika, Seenath, Srilatha and Kalpana are other actors in the film.

Jayaprakash is the name of main character in the film. He is called as JP in the film. He is a normal person from Kerala. His education standard is SSLC. The desire to become rich caught up his mind. The rush for money and the problems arising in between is the main theme of the film.

Through JP the film depicts a common man in our society rushing for money . The problems he faces are real in our life. The story goes by describing real estate business and the techniques in it. Thilakan is coming to the Malayalam film after a small interval. Thilakan play the role of a helper of JP. The name of his character is Achuthamenon. He is man with problems even after passing many years in his life. Thilakan plays a main role in the film after Prithviraj. The film says that the main problem of the youngsters is not 'love.The problems of a youngster arises due to his desire to earn lots of money. It is a film depicting the common features of a youngster.
