The latest news regarding Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple treasure is that a joint sitting of the Supreme Court appointed committees on the valuable treasures of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple located in Thiruvananthapuram city, the capital of Kerala state in India has decided to set up a highly specialized agency for valuing those treasures found in the vaults of this temple. The treasures in the temple were found to have a value more than Rs 1 lakh crore. There are together 6 vaults in the temple.
As we all know, the 5 vaults of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple were opened based on the petition filed by T. P. Sunderarajan, a former Indian Police Service(IPS) official. But T. P. Sunderarajan passed away on 17 July 2011. 2 different committees were appointed by a bench of Justice of R. V .Raveendran & Justice A. K. Patnaik. One committee consists of 5 experts headed by Bose mandated to photograph & videograph the articles present in the vault A of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple & the other is a 3 member committee headed by Justice M. N. Krishnan to check the operations of the expert committee. However decision to open the vault B of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is not yet taken.
