Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple - Evaluation of treasure at begins

According to the latest news the scientific documentation of unearthed treasure from Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, reveals that around 10 silver articles were unearthed from F vault on Tuesday February 21, 2012. They evaluation team express that these articles are the silver utensils used for pooja rituals in the temple. The utensils include silver plate, silver pot, and silver anki. The documentation process of unearthed treasure from F vault of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple began at 10.30 am and ended around 3.30 pm on Tuesday.

The documentation process is being carried out by using high quality electronic gadgets supplied by Keltron. As part of the documentation process on first day seven silver articles were evaluated which was used in the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Narasimha to the inventory. To avoid manual intervention the Digital Archiving of Temple Antiques has been installed there. According to the sources, news documentation of unearthed treasure in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple will take one year to complete its process.

There are six vaults in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in which five vaults have been opened. The vaults E and F mainly contain pooja utensils and lamps of gold, silver, and brass.

A joint meeting of the expert committee on monday decided not to open the C vault in the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple now which has been sealed by the Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sub – Court. They also decided to approach the Supreme Court to seek special permission to open the C vault.
