This St. Teresa's College was started in the year 1925 with around 41 students. This college is affiliated to Madras University. This college got award (R Sankar Award) for best private college in 1996 and 1997. Because if the excellence this college status is raised to FIVE STARS in 1999 by NAAC. The mission of this college is to produce the students more spiritual. The main goal of this college is to bring the students more responsible, socially committed, creative, true and mature. This college has multipurpose indoor stadium which is used for seminar purpose, common function happening inside the college or for cultural activities and so on. And this indoor stadium is also used for indoor games also. This college also has spacious class rooms for students, conference hall, well equipped laboratories, guest rooms, Auditorium and so many. This college has 2 auditoriums one is main auditorium with around 2000 seating capacity and another one is mini auditorium with around 700 seating capacity. Other than this college has very good sports ground, in this place separate courts for all the games like volleyball, basket ball and so many.
Library: This college library has been functioning from 1925. Now this library is fully computerized. Depends upon the students and teaching staffs request the books will be updated periodically. This library has around 80000 books, 25 international journals, 75 national journals, There is separate library space maintain for each departments. This library also has computer with internet facility so the students and staffs can use this for the e journals. Other than the books this college has so many collections of books in CD format. So the students can get benefits by using this.
Computer Science Lab: This college has totally 5 computer labs, all the labs are having high configured desktops and all the systems are connected to the network and it is maintained by few servers. All the systems are having internet facility with high band width. This college is also offering the courses to the students. The students can enroll the training in 2 different timings like 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM or 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The computer lab has facility like printer, internet connection and so on. So the students can get benefits by this.
Hostel The hostel facility is present inside the college campus itself. This college has 3 hostels. The environment of the college is very good. Each room can accommodate by maximum of 3 to 4 people. The main feature of hostel is this hostel has internet facility, library facility, and canteen. There will be a separate function for hostel students called as hostel day. All the functions are celebrated in grand manner. All the students inside the hostel will feel great during the time of the staying. There is separate warden allotted for the hostel, they will take care if the hostel and all the students inside the hostel has to follow the hostel rules and regulations.
