Wayanad- The Green Paradise

Location of Wayanad
In the eastern part of Wayanad, it is bounded by Nilgiri hills and Mysore districts of Karnataka, on the north by Coorg district of Karnataka, Malappuram on the south and on the west by Kozhikode and Kannur. The place lies between north latitude 110 27' and 150 58' and east 750 47' and 700 27'. The visitors can enter to Wayanad district only through road way. The hilly tracks of Wayanad hills are having some hair pin bends till we reach the top. The journey to Wayanad is quite interesting.
Climate of Wayanad
As mentioned earlier, Wayanad is having a pleasant climate through out the year and it is having a salubrious climate. Wayanad also receives both North East and South West monsoons. Wayanad district is most rain receiving districts of Kerala. The average rainfall here is 2322 mm. The place known as Lakkidi receives highest amount of rainfall in Kerala. Wayanad is having its most cold weather season starting from December to February, hot weather from the months of March to May.

Pookot Lake : It is one of the beautiful lakes of Kerala situated in Wayanad. The tourists visiting here can have a boat ride through the serene waters of Pookot.
