Munnar is certainly a stunning tourist destination in Kerala. There are many places to visit in Munnar. Some of the major attractions are Mattuppetti Dam, Echo point etc. The domestic farm based on Indo Swiss project was also a n interesting place to visit. There is only 10 kms from the town to Mattupetti Dam. Boating and horse riding are also available here.
One can reach the echo point from Mattuppetti. It is only a walking distance of just 5kms. The top station is just 17 kms away from there. Then it is approaching to Tamilnadu forest. These forests are having ropeway facilities and also facilities for trkking trails. The tourism authority of Munnar is giving special care to these kind of activities.
The Chinnar wildlife Sanctuary is also nearer to Munnar, We can see deers, bisons, elephants etc. The mountain squirrel of chinnar sanctuary is also famous. Some of the other tourist destinations are Kundalelake, Devikulam Hill station, Anamudy view, Photo point etc. Munnar is also famous for Neelakkurinji, a flower which blooms once in 14 years.
