Mar Athanasius College of Engineering is one of the top engineering colleges in Kerala. It is situated at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district. The college was managed by Mar Athanasius Association, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and aided by the government of Kerala. Mar Athanasius College of Engineering is the first engineering college to get affiliated MG University. It was also the first college in Asia under Christian Management. The college campus is spread over 25.3 hectares of land on which instructional, administrative and amenities comprises 12765.51 sq. m, workshops and laboratories comprises 14036.7 sq. m and the play ground take up an area of around 20000 sq. m. It has now six full fledged departments apart from this two auxiliary departments of Humanities & Science and Mathematics. Besides college also provide various self financing and aided M-tech courses. 
About the courses
B-tech: For B- tech courses, the admission to 85 % seats will be based on the rank obtained in All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the government of Kerala and the remaining 15 % seats are filled by the management, which is also based on the rank obtained in the entrance examination. Eligibility of the course is a pass in +2 exam with not less than 50 % for the subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Various courses are Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and communication Engineering. Apart from these college also provide two auxiliary courses such as Humanities & Science and Mathematics.
M-tech: For M-tech self financing courses, 50 % seats are under government merit quota and the remaining 50 % seats are filled under the management quota. For the aided M-tech courses, out of 24 seats, admission to 20 seats are made by the DTE Thiruvananthapuram and the remaining 4 seats are filled under management quota. Eligibility of the course is a pass in B.Tech/BE Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering conducted by recognized Institution or University with minimum 60% aggregate or equivalent. Various M-tech courses are Computer Aided Structural Engineering (Civil - self financing), Structural Engineering and Construction Management(Civil - Aided), Production & Industrial Engineering (Mechanical - self financing), Power Electronics (Electrical - Aided Course), VSLI and Embeded Systems (E&C) - (Aided Course), Thermal Power Engineering(Mechanical - Aided Course) and Computer Science and Engineering (Aided Course). Central Library
The college provide a well furnished, fully computerized digital library with computer aided search facilities. It is located centrally in the campus adjacent to the main building. The library maintains more than 75000 volumes, which include books, periodicals, journals, magazines and newspapers for the students and teachers striving for acquiring and constructing knowledge. Students can get soft copies or photo copies of the study materials for the further reference. Central library consists of reference section, lending section, current periodical section, digital library, reading room, internet facility, reprographic section, back volume section, book bank for students of scheduled cast/tribe, book bank for financially backward students and online information of books and journals. Open access is provided to the library users and the books arranged in a ordered and subject wise manner for the easy access and quick retrieval. Books are issued to the students by barcode scanning of identity card through computer. The library is open for the students on all working days from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm except Saturdays. Hostel Facility
MACE provide a well equipped and separate hostel for boys and girls. There are four hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. Boys hostels are Haile Selassie Hall - 1, Haile Selassie Hall - 2, Kennedy hostel and the Mar Basil hostel. Girls hostels are Ladies hostel Old block, Ladies Hostel New block - 1, Ladies Hostel New block - 2. Two dividing messes and one contract messes are provided in the boys hostel and a combined dividing mess system is provided in ladies hostel. A common room is provided in all hostels for watching TV, reading magazines and newspaper. Facilities for indoor and outdoor games are also provided in the hostels. Managers are appointed in the boys hostels to look after the daily administrative disciplines and a matron for ladies hostels. Fitness Centre
MACE provide a well maintained and well equipped fitness centre for the students to maintaining good physical health. It is the ability to endure, bear up, withstand stress and carry on its circumstances where an unfit person could not continue. It helps the students to perform their daily tasks vigorously, actively and alertly and to look and feel better. It keep the mental illness and diseases away. A good trainer is appointed in the fitness centre for proper guidance and training. The centre provide all types of equipments that need for all body muscles such as less press machine, bench press machine, cable crossover, high lat pulley, rowing pulley, squat machine, body twister, vertical knee raise, preacher curl, adjustable bench press, tread mill, dumbbells, barbells, abdominal board, chinning bar, wrist curl etc. Play Ground
MACE provide a best available sports and game facility for the students. It has a cricket ground, foot ball ground, two volley ball courts, two tennis courts, a basket ball court and three badminton court. These various play grounds take up an area of 20000 sq. m. MACE also provide a multipurpose indoor stadium having floor area of 3500 sq. m. All these play grounds have been the venue of state wise, university wise and inter collegiate tournaments. Recently a national university wise volley ball tournament was held here. 
Auditorium
Indoor auditorium: This auditorium has a capacity of 400 audiences in a floor area of 400 sq. m which is located in the main block. Important meetings and functions are held in this auditorium.
Open - air Theatre: This is a beautiful stage located at the heart of the campus. It has an audience capacity of 1500, in a floor area of 2000 sq. m. Annual arts festival and cultural meets are held in this stage.
Central seminar hall: This seminar hall a capacity of 100 audience, which is located in the main block. Important staff meetings, seminars of national and international importance, Alumni meetings, PTA meetings, short term courses for faculty members of various colleges are held here.
Conference room: MACE provide a well equipped conference hall to conduct the important conferences such as HOD meeting, PTA executive committee meeting and group tutor meetings.
Other seminar halls: MACE provide separate seminar hall for each departments. All these seminar hall has a capacity of 70 audience. Students seminar about their curriculum and other seminars held here. Training and placement
A full fledged training and placement cell is formed for the student community with a view to choosing careers, facing interviews, preparing resumes and placing properly. The college considers training and placement of every students as its principle duty. One of the important responsibility of TAP is to motivate and prepare the students for successful performance in higher exams like GATE, GMAT, TOFEL, GRE and also in interviews and subsequent interaction with employers. The college has very good canteen which serves all types of delicious Indian dishes. It also has a general store where stationary items, engineering instruments and books needed for the students as well as staffs are available. A post office which is about 100 m away from the main block is situated in the campus. The Mar Baselious Medical Mission Hospital (M.B.M.M) of Kothamangalam facilitate immediate treatment for any injury or illness of various staff and students without any payment. The collage also provides two telephone in the campus and parking area in porches as well as in open air.
